Woodlands Stewardship Education Center Earns Fairfax County Honor Award

The Woodlands Stewardship Education Center has received an Honor Award through Fairfax County’s James M. Scott Exceptional Design Awards program, recognizing excellence in architecture, planning, and site design.

Located within Ellanor C. Lawrence Park, the Center serves as a gateway to Fairfax County’s natural and cultural resources, connecting visitors to the surrounding landscape through thoughtfully integrated indoor and outdoor learning, exhibition, and play spaces. Designed to inspire environmental stewardship, the facility showcases sustainable strategies and technologies that visitors can apply in their own homes and communities.

The project is also pursuing certification under the Living Building Challenge, one of the world’s most rigorous standards for sustainable building performance, reflecting its commitment to environmental responsibility, education, and community engagement.

Congratulations to Quinn Evans and the entire project team on this outstanding recognition.
